The Meaning of Life by a  secretary of English Literature Department

The Meaning of life  becomes a controversial issue in our society. In biology, life means moving, breathing, growing and reproducing. Furthermore, there are alot of theologians trying to give their opinion about the issue. They write their interpretations  in their books. On the other side,  Albert Camus quotes “you will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life”. From those statements, it is clear that everyone has their own interpratetion related to the meaning of their life. consequently, it is important to us to find more conciderations about the issue in order that we can interprate it wisely. Learning from an inspirative figure is an important way to do.

She is Indriyati hadiningrum, the 39-year-old woman working  as a lecturer at Jenderal Soedirman University. Teaching for almost everyday in a week, she understands her students’ characteristic well. She knows how to teach her students come from different background. So, her teaching method is very understandable.

In campus she is not only a lecturer thinking about teaching methods, but also a secretary of English Literature Department . her main responsibility as a secretary is managing the English literature Department. She has to know every event related to the course. It means that she has double job to do at the sama place. She frequently has to attend some meeting as a representative of the course. In spite of the  fact that she finds some problem in her jobs, she enjoy them very much.

Although she has a lot of responsibilities in campus, she joins some social organization. As an example, she becomes a volunteer in Indonesia Mengajar,  especially in inspiration class. She explains students in Indonesia Mengajar about her profession. Also, she join a company program of leadership training. She learns about enterpreneurship there.

Book review

MAWAR MERAH MOSAIK NOVEL by Luna Torashyngu 

The Mawar Merah Mosaik tells the story of Riva, a girl who is interested in her college friend, a new student named Elsa. Either Elsa or Riva has very different character. Riva is very easygoing, but Elsa prefer to secluded and read the book. However Elsa’s character precisely attracted Riva's attention. Riva felt that Elsa had a mystery, and she wanted to know about that mystery. Although it was initially difficult, Riva finally become close with Elsa. not only Riva, but also Arga who were attracted by Elsa. It has made Riva dizzy. She was more dizzy knowing that Elsa rarely go to collage. And it was getting worse as soon as Saka's presence, her cousin who is a member of International Police. Saka suspect  Elsa as an international assassin who is being searched world wide. Of course Riva did not believe in saka's judgment. It is impossible that Elsa which has a calm and soft hearted was an assassin. Without conscious, Riva stuck in a conflict and massive conspiracy that has lasted for more than 10 years. Saka reinforces the nation that she is Mawar Merah. Mawar Merah is a member of the organization  of fund-SPIKE-assassin in the world. She did it because she wanted revenge for the death of her father.And it turns out Saka the alleged indeed, Elsa is Mawar Merah, whose real name Rachel Watson Sarasvati. It was known when Rachel fight with Oleg, one of the assassin, in the campus. Rachel realizes all of this has been set by SPIKE therefore she instantly fought with Jonathan Keisp-SPIKE-chairman of the organization that led to the alleged Mawar Merah have been Killed in the battle.

I think this book has a lot of mystery. It makes readers wonder whether or not they read the book until the end. And something that make this book interesting is a killer figure is a woman who is still very young and too pretty. Actually, this book has three series. mawar merah is first series, the second and third book are mawar merah metamorfosis and mawar merah matahari. unfortunately, I have not read the second and third series of the book. I hope i can read it as soon as possible.

Although the theme of this novel is action, there are some parts that I think is quite touching ,when Rachel or Elsa find her mother's diary which contains stories of his mother when her mother was young once , and when it began to unfold Elsa real identity is a very dangerous killer.

Short story

OUR TIME

The evening sky as bright as it does normally. Overcast with black clouds rolled across the horizon. Spring breeze blow away the dead leaves brownish colour in the area of the cemetery. Lino not moved from where he stood. Gaze wistfully. His eyes looked puffy after a day of continues flow of tears. Cry over those he loved.

“why did you leave without saying goodbye to me?”  His voice hoarse. His breathe caught and his chest ached when the sentence was spoken. His eyes stared straight tomb reads ‘Vita Ariana’ on it. Today women, women who are very he loved with all his heart, had gone, leaving a void for his soul.

Vita is half his soul. It is true. He suddenly present in his life and then disappeared without a trace like smoke.
“ Do you remember when we first met? Maybe that’s when I fell in love with you…” Murmured Lino staring intently headstone could not answer his question. The memories come back flashed in his brain. The memory will not be erased until many years into the future even though  he is dead.  Memories when he met with Vita Ariana..

*Flash back

“Oh, unfortunate if discarded” complained Vita as Black Forest cake is made more pathetic than a cake like that in general. “ Wow, sure it could be eaten? I think not” said Lisa, a friend of the class commented on the cake Vita works in practice earlier PKK. Vita nodded weakly. “ I know. It’s even much messier than that Texas city devastates because of hurricane Kathrina.” Lisa pat Vita to channel the spirit of her friend. “ Come on, failure is success delayed. There is still another day” He assured her Vita sighed heavily. Yeah, the other day… her heart sank. For Vita, the word ‘another day’ it was a nightmare. Always make her hair prickle and quivering.
“ Ah, I’ll give this cake to Lino! Is not his birthday soon?” Vita and Lisa turned to the rear. Right into the crowd Louisa and her ladies. They were loyal fans of Lino Stephan, man who was in the order no. 1 on the list of the most popular student in Saktiya High School, their school.
“ That is true My cake will also give him..” remarked Lisa makes Vita snapped. Even his friends have become fans of Lino? Oh dear…

Vita will remove the cake was the failure to landfills is behind the school. There deserted corridor. Because most of the students are still in class. At that time, in the second, Lino sitting on the floor as he sipped water from a bottle. Vita frowned. Lino what are there? Looks like he is resting after exercise. It can be seen from his face wet with sweat and sweat suit looked shabby by dust.
“Ehem..” Vita coughed signalled that he was there. Lino was shocked viewed Vita. “ Why..What?” He asked nervously as he stood up and act cool snobs. “ I’m sorry, startled. I just wanted to pass” says Vita without expression. Lino surprised. Most women would have a loss and a nervous wreck when dealing with him. But this girl, she even put ‘poker face’ like this. Vita did not participate stuck in the ‘Lino fever’ as her other friends. The reason is simple, because she was afraid. A great deal of fear in her life including fear she would fall in love with Lino, oh no, it seems she is already in love with him. Therefore, in order to conceal  her feelings, she would rather indifferent to the handsome guy in front of her. Lino frowned saw the girl in front of his daydream. A moment later the girl shook her head and move past Lino. Glance Lino see the look of fear and sad in the eyes of the girl. But he tried to ignore it. Kriuuuuukkkkk~

Step Vita stalled. While Lino petrified in place. Vita turned to face wonder. “you hungry huh?”

Glek! Lino swallowed. Aw, shame! Stomach shit! Why go off at this time of hell! He muttered to myself. Look slowly turned, and he smiled awkwardly at women who are looking at him still with a flat outlook. “uh, actually. Yes, I’m starving” claim Lino while grinning. Vita trying not to laugh, but the effort failed. She still laughs though slowly and onlu a corner of her mouth rose and stretched in a smile. Lino silent again. He made wonder, face without expression why so looked charming when she smile? Despite the thick glasses perched on her face and looks more like Betty La Fea, but underneath all that radiates charm and Lino could see it clearly. “Em, What’s your name?”. Question Lino make Vita smile stalled poker face reappeared. Aaarg, Lino cursed himself. Why ask things so embarrassing

 “Vita Ariana” said Vita brief.

“Oh, I’m Lino Stephan. You know, right?”

Vita nodded curly. Lino glanced a the cake ‘devastated’ held Vita.

“Em.. the cake was…” Lino pointed towards the Black Forest cake that failed in the hand Vita.

“Oh, this. Why? Ugly right? Indeed, why would I throw”

Vita was about to step however Lino hold.

“Wait, should I try?”

Vita incredible surprise. Lino, cool boy seems to want to try the cake itself destroyed even hesitate to give it a try? Strange but magical.

“it’s not okay? If you’re poisoning or stomach pain do not blame me. Okay!’” said Vita advised.

Lino nodded. He might be crazy, but his conscience said he should try the cake and his stomach can not cooperate. He did not have time to eat this morning. Vita handed the cake in her hand hesitated. Lino immediately grabbed the cake.

“wait, let me first spilt. And you also eat this use”. Vita handed scoop on Lino. He takes the cake, and split it. Because it was too hungry, Lino did not care about the view outside and immediately devoured the cake. Vita biting finger when Lino feeding cake to his mouth.

“How does it feel? Not bad huh?” Vita asked timidly. Lino was enjoying how to taste it in his mouth.

“Emm.. delicious..” muttered Lino. Then spend another cookie. Vita is not convinced by saying Lino, then try it yourself. “Ah, right. Not bad. Fortunately yet I threw”. Lino smiled. They ended up spending the cake.

“Oh, it’s in your mouth, there is the rest of the cream” Lino said, pointing to the corner of the lips Vita. “Really?” Vita quickly wiped them with the back of her hand. “There is still” Murmured Lino. He wiped his own initiative cream that was left with his thumb.

Drrrt… mild electric shock when the blood vessel crashing Lino hand touched the corner of her lips. Vita silent for a moment. “I have to go. Because I’ve been running away from gym class” Lino wink glance before leaving. But just a few step, he looked back at Vita. “Next time, I tried to be the cake yours again?”

Vita is still frozen nod. Whether consciously or not, with the word Lino since then.

Movie review : BIG HERO 6

"BIG HERO" 6 is a computer animated superhero 3D Movie produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, based on The Marvel comics superhero team of the same name. The Movie was released on November 7^th 2014, the movie directed by Don Hall, Co-Director of Winnie The Pooh, Chris William, and also Co-Director of The Bolt. It became 54^th Movies in The Walt Disney Animated Classics Series.

If the general superhero looks cool and away from acts silly. As with the protagonist in “Big Hiro 6”. The creators of the superhero groups in this film are engineering students San-Fransokyo Institute of Technology. The team is composed of teenage nerd who acted far from being cool or like a mighty superhero characters over the years.

The main character in this movie is a Boy named Hiro and also The Robot called Baymax. Hiro Hamada also called Hiro, a robotics expert and graduated from high school at the age of 14 years old. Baymax is a robot that is strong, resilient, soft, and chewy like a marshmallow. It makes baymax into the character so enjoyable not to mention. Baymax is a genius and able to provide solutions for every problem that the team they face.

Although this is basically a children’s movie, “Big Hiro 6” capable of displaying complex emotional situations in the story.

It was characteristic that has always worked in Disney Movies capable of touching. "Big Hero 6" tells the pain of and achieve goals. Uniquely, it Baymax which is actually a robot become friends and were able to entertain at a time when sad. Friendship team and personal relationship between Hiro and his brother Tadashi Hamada, enough to make this movie touched the hearts of the audience

 “Big Hiro 6” can be a good learning for children to get to know the diversity. The reason, the characters in this film comes from a variety of race, but they remain compact in cooperation quell crime. Tadashi and Hiro Hamada, the main character, is a mulatto boy whites and Japan. Several other characters appear dark-skinned with curly hair, and there are also women who faced Asia.

The sun seems as if it doesn't have light again

Feels so cloudy..

Not as warm as before

So cold..

The air seems as though it doesn't contain oxygen

So empty..

This chest was so crowded

It was so crowded

In this body 

It was like desease that is not going undiagnosed

It's too painful 

This all because ..

I had lost you..

About that poetry

As seen above, This poetry describes the feeling of someone who lost the very valuable thing in her life. she used to need and  dependent on it very much. And when she lost such thing, she thought her life has changed

Hello! My name is Dewi Madu Retno. I was born on May 10th, in the small town of Indramayu, West Java. I am a student at Jendral Soedirman University in Purwokerto, Central Java. I am studying English now, but I want to study office Administration later. Because I am live in Indramayu, i speak Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese, and Sundanese. In my sparetime i usually watch  television. my favorite sport is swimming.
